What is license plate impoundment?

자동차 번호판 영치제도란?


- Under Article 131 of the Local Tax Act, self-governing entities shall confiscate the license plate of the vehicle owned by a person who fails to pay motor tax more than twice.  



How do we seize license plates?  

 자동차번호판 영치업무는 어떻게 이루어지고 있는가?


- When a license plate reader identifies the delinquent taxpayer’s vehicle that is parked, we will remove and keep the plate; however, we do not make inquiries about every tax evader’s home or office address. 



How can seized license plates be returned?

영치된 번호판은 어떻게 되돌려 받나요?


In order to get your license plate back from us,  You should do as follows :


Step 1. pay your delinquent motor tax in full at any bank.

Step 2. visit the taxation division 2 of the gu-Office in your district with your identification card and a receipt to get your plates back.



What are ways to pay motor taxes?

자동차세 납부 방법은?


Receive the bill at Taxation Division 2 and pay with credit card, using an ATM, or in cash at any nearest Bank. Transfer money to one of the virtual accounts specified in the bill; we are able to provide virtual account number information over the phone.
