■ Would(Could, Might)를 써라
That is unacceptable. → That would be unacceptable.
■ 의문문으로 제안하라
That is too late. → Is that too late?
■ N't를 사용하라
Is that too late? → Isn't that late?
■ I'm afraid를 적절히 사용하라
I'm afraid that would not be a good idea.
■ Not very + 긍정의 형용사를 써라
The hotel was dirty. →The hotel wasn't very clean.
■ 서두에 actually, to be honest, well, in fact 등 안내어귀를 적절히 사용하라
Actually, the financial picture isn't too bright here at the head office.
■ 대안을 제시할 때 비교급을 사용해 보라
It's cheap to go by air. → It might be cheaper to go by air.
■ 과거진행형을 써라
I tried to call you yesterday. → I was trying to call you yesterday.
