      One of the few virtues of prison life is the gradual acquisition of patience.

      감옥생활에 관한 몇가지 덕목중의 하나는 인내심을 차근차근 길러야 한다는 것이다.

      I roam around Frostburg for a couple of days reminding myself that I have become a very patient person.

      나는 프로스버그를 몇일간 돌았다.그러면서 깨달았다. 내가 매우 인내심을 가진 사람이 되었다는 것을. 

 

      I do not expect the FBI to keep me in the loop, so I have no way of knowing they have arrested Quinn Rucker and that he has confessed.

      나는 FBI가 나에게 진행상황을 수시로 이야기해줄것이라 기대하지 않았다. 그래서 나는 그들이 퀸 로커를 채포하였는지 그리고 그가 자백하였는지에 관해 알수 있는 방법은 없었다. 

      I stare into his eyes as I take a seat in the coffee room just after breakfast.

      나는 아침식사를 마친후 바로 휴게실에서 의자에 앉아 그의 눈을 바라보았다.

      All news is being parceled out by the FBI, so there's not much detail.

      모든 소식들은 FBI를 통해  알려졌기때문에 상세한 정보는 담겨있지 않았다. 

      There is no whiff of a motive, no clue as to how the FBI decided Quinn was their man, and only a passing reference to a ballistics report.

   퀸이 법인이라고 어떻게 판단되었는지에 관한 증거나 (범행)동기에 대해선 어떠한 힌트도 없었다.  단지 탄도보고서에 관한 짦은 언급이 있을 뿐이었다. 

      After waiving his Miranda rights, the suspect voluntarily underwent a lengthy interrogation.

   용의자는 미렌더 권리를 포기한 후, 자발적으로 장시간의 조사를 받았다.

      After he settled in, he made his way to the library.

   그는 (그곳에서)적응한 이후, 도서관으로 갔다.

      The place is swarming with crooks, cons and scam artists, and everyone is looking out for his own skin.

   그 곳(교도소)은 이런저런 사기꾼들로 인해 득시글득시글한다. 그리고 모든 사람들은 자기자신의 일신을 지키기 위해 조심한다.  

      He was instantly likeable, and I'm not sure I've met another person with as much charisma and sincerity.

   그 는 매우 호감가는 인물이었다.그리고 나는그렇게 카리스마넘치고 솔직한 다른 사람을 만나본 적이 없었던 것 같다.   

      Buy him some anyway. You know Marcus is too broke.

   어쨌든 그에게 좀 사주세요. 알잖아요. 마커스가 무일푼이란거.   

      There is one significant development.

  하나의 중대한 진전이 있다. 

      The majority of my fellow inmates would not caught dead in a church service.

  하나의 수감동료들 중 대부분은 교회 예배에 참석하는 모습을 보이고 싶지 않아한다.
