 1  어원과 유래

     Flavor of the month. "이달의 꽃"처럼 순식간에 인기를 얻고 시드는 유행

    비유적 표현이다. "올해의 꽃"이 아니라 "이번달의 꽃"이라고 표현한 이유는 유행이 빠르게 변함을 표현한 것이다. 원래 이표현은 유행은 마치 "이달의 꽃"처럼 한달 주기로 바뀌는 것 같다는 식으로 유행을 비판적으로 바라보는 표현으로 사용되기 시작했다.
